More than 100 million people in 70 countries of every continent have already seen Lord of the Dance – an international phenomenon of Irish dance which has popularized Celtic dance mania all over the world. This world’s highest grossing dance show was created in 1996 in Ireland. After a year it broke a box office record and achieved the status of the most profitable world tour. For 17 years Lord of the Dance has filled up theatre venues, arenas and stadiums. In London itself Lord of the Dance staged 21 consecutive sell-out shows at Wembley Arena.
Last year Lord of the Dance total ticket sales exceeded $800 million worldwide. Fans have bought more than 1.2 million CDs with music and almost 14 million video and DVD movies of the show. It is estimated that the number of websites devoted entirely to the show has reached almost 2500 sites!

Lord of the Dance Show, created by Michael Flatley, is the world’s highest grossing Irish dance show in history. In 2013 it continues its world tour for 17th consecutive year.
Flatley set a Guiness Book world record for „the fastest legs in the world” – his tapping speed was 28 taps per second. Since its debut in Dublin in 1996 he has been an Artistic Director of Lord of the Dance, overseeing all aspects of the production. His professionalism, artistry and vision have been appreciated by viewers and spectators all over the world – this dance show has earned over $800 million since it was staged for the first time. The show, performed by one of the Lord of the Dance troupes, had been running in Las Vegas for five consecutive years in front of 2 million spectators.
The new production, which has cost millions of dollars, is an entirely new magnificent stage design, with high resolution huge LED walls providing better visual effects and over 600 most beautiful costumes and spectacular state-of-the-art lighting!

Based on Irish folklore, the story of the show is the classic tale of Good versus Evil, expressed through the universal language of dance. The Little Spirit travels through time to help the Lord of the Dance protect his people against Don Dorcha, the Lord of the Darkness. The battles and clashes intertwine with the love story, full of ups and downs, passion and drama, and all of it against a backdrop of beautiful Celtic music.
