Vistal Gdynia, who bask in their recent triumph in the Polish Cup Final Four, open the PGNiG Superleague play-offs. Jens Steffensen’s players encounter a very demanding rival – 2013 bronze medalist Energa AZS Koszalin – already in the first round of the competition. Gdynia team will certainly be willing to take revenge on their rivals for the last year defeat which they suffered in the dramatic struggle for a medal position in the league (the photo above is from one of those matches). They face, however, a tough task which may be even tougher since some of the players fight with injuries after recent Polish national team matches. The battle for semi-finals calls for two wins (the second game will take place in Koszalin), so it’s quite probable that we will watch both teams in Gdynia again – the possible third match has been scheduled for 12 April.
